Workshop Synopsis (Abstract):
In a normal situation, consumers only buy one product and thus the product must be functioning for its intended usage and specification. This means a product or service supplier to end consumer only get one chance to show their product is of good quality. Therefore, all products sold to the consumer market should achieve zero-defect or a very low defect rate such as six sigma quality which is equal to 3.4 defects in one million parts.
Product with zero defects is a dream of every organization. The next big question would be what it takes to achieve zero defects. In the modern world, the end product which reaches the end-user or consumer goes through a very long supply chain, from mother nature raw material such metal, silicon wafer, petrol chemical by-product to form into piece part assemble into sub-assembly and then join together to become final assembly.
All the touchpoint throughout the supply chain will increase error opportunity which could induce defect in a product.
This evening talk will explore on how an organization is accountable for the defect, touchpoints throughout the supplier chain will increase the error opportunity and whether zero is a reality or myth and what does it take to strive a zero defect quality.

Those managers who can make the right project investment decisions will reap the most rewards in their corporate career progression.
If you are currently a project manager or technical project manager, do you have the right skill to be your bosses’ trusted advisor? Especially when it comes to making a project proposal during the annual project funneling and selection process? Are you looking to joining the rank of those senior managers? Are you looking to acquire the essential project investment appraisal skill to boost your career? Please join our talk. We will share the decision tools to assess projects from the financial investment perspective in the session. Workshop Synopsis (Abstract):
The coronavirus or COVID-19 has caused significant disruption to our day-to-day lives. Not surprisingly, this brings with it a host of additional stresses and anxieties.
Job or workplace stress may affect not only our quality of life, but our ability to do well in our careers. Many workers suffer from excessive stress and anxiety as a result of various job-related stressors. The importance of learning to reduce and manage workplace stress cannot be ignored especially during this particular time.
Research has shown that it is not the experience of stress that is responsible for it’s acclaimed negative effect on us, but the way we deal perceive stress. For some individuals, stress can lead to positive consequences. In this case, stress is referred to as eustress. Research on eustress shows that when a stressor is being evaluated as positive in terms of its potential implications for well-being, a different psychological and physiological response follows than does a negative assessment. In this case, stress can result in improvement in well-being.
This 2-hour online workshop will provide you with the skills necessary to identify signs and symptoms of stress. The workshop explores your coping strategies and reframe stress into productivity and happiness. In addition, participants will learn how to increase positive emotions, create flow experiences and increase happiness at work.
Program objectives:
- Recognize signs and symptoms of stress in the workplace.
- Keep stress in perspective and reframe stress.
- Increase productivity through flow.
- Master coping strategy wheels to create more options.

Workshop Synopsis (Abstract):
Organizations succeed when leaders recognize the need to change and are able to implement changes effectively. In our fast-changing world, the strategic imperative to change is often clear: Without doing things differently, our company is unlikely to succeed, or last.
While formal change processes might be well understood, too many leaders neglect the all-important human side of change. The most effective leaders devoted considerable effort to engaging everyone involved in the change and remembered that people need time to adapt to change — no matter how fast-moving the change initiative.
In this 2-hour program, leaders will discover the psychological state of change, apply 5 strategies to lead change and communicate change effectively.
Program objectives:
1) Understand the psychological state of change.
2) Apply 5 strategies to lead change.
3) Communicate change effectively with Change Map.

Workshop Synopsis (Abstract):
Today’s manufacturing sector deploy a wide ‘assortment’ of methods to drive and improve productivity performance. Lean manufacturing or Toyota Production System (TPS) began from automobile manufacturing in Japan has gained traction across the globe. Six Sigma methodology on the other hand has attracted attention to drive variabilities since it was introduced by American engineers working at Motorola. There has been comparison over the methods’ approaches, benefits, and other aspects in the past years. But, recently instead of comparing, combining Lean and Six Sigma as one collaborative effort to drive continuous improvement has been gaining in popularity. There have been wide range of training, certification, and consulting services in Lean Six Sigma instead of choosing one or the other. Many companies have attempted lean transformation, six sigma transformation, and lately combining two or more methods, but far few claimed the successes in sustenance practices.
In this talk, the speaker will share and discuss the origins of these productivity methods and practices from Industrial Engineering. It includes the revolution of these methods and the importance of hybrid approach moving forward. The talk will also bring up the points of how Lean, Six Sigma work with other key productivity guru such as TOC (Theory of Constraints).
Engineers and management must make these seemingly disparate methods integrate and perform as one, which can be a challenge, especially when different technical and academic background, experiences, and escalating conflicting strategies add to the complexity. Critical lesson learned, shared, and discussed in the transformation to prevail in the next generation of manufacturing age.

Date & Time:
15 & 16 May 2020 – 9:00am – 5:00pm
Virtual Live Online
Workshop Synopsis (Abstract):
Project risk has its origins in the uncertainty present in all projects. Known risks are those that have been identified and analyzed, making it possible to plan responses for those
risks. Specific unknown risks cannot be managed proactively, which suggests that the project team should create a contingency plan (PMBOK® Guide).
Project Risk Management includes the process of conducting risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, and monitoring and control on a project. The
objectives of Project Risk Management are to increase the probability and impact of positive events, and decrease the probability and impact of negative events in the project
(PMBOK® Guide).
With the knowledge and skills acquired at the end of the training program, participants will be able to use practical risk management processes, tools and techniques to manage
project risks of any size and nature. This will in turn ensure successful project completion, meeting project scope, cost and schedule.
Participants will also work through the proactive approach to threat and opportunity risks — based on a clear understanding of the powerful nature of both qualitative and
quantitative approaches to risk management. The training examines threat and opportunity from both a top-down and bottom-up perspective of 7 risk management
processes. Using effective tools, the trainees will learn how to evaluate and respond to risk at the project and task levels.
This course is conducted by an experienced project director and a certified PMP® trainer with an extensive exposure to management of R&D, NPI Manufacturing, Construction,

Workshop Synopsis (Abstract):
Choosing to adapt is the heart of the Agile philosophy. In the past, Agile was primarily associated with software development and the IT sector. Today, it’s increasingly used by human resources teams and applied to entire organizations. Agile is a way of moving forward and creating value. It’s a mentality that allows people and groups to meet challenges, learn quickly, and respond to change. It’s a different and new way of managing teams, individuals, projects, and development. Agile has secured its place within the software development community where it originated and evolved, and now Agile is spreading into many other areas of the professional workplace, where its embrace of adaptive feedback can help businesses thrive. This sharing session will help you and your organization not only apply Agile methods and practices (“do Agile”) but transform yourselves to an Agile mindset and live in an Agile culture (“be Agile”) grounded in Agile values and principles, customer value, continuous customer engagement, and employee engagement.
Many are seeing that a more iterative approach allows them the flexibility to adjust to the changing needs of customers and the continuous churning of market conditions. Many others would like to apply Agile effectively because they are hearing it from all corners of their professional life.
In a nutshell, the Agile Mindset seems to be a very hopeful way of looking at life. It promotes rolling-with-the-punches, working hard, and never making excuses. It helps you keep moving forward, helping to change yourself for the better while keeping your core values as a person intact.
