Workshop Synopsis (Abstract)

This evening talk aims to share positive learning points about the presenter’s recent experience on successfully managing a critical and urgent project (a subproject within a big program); where he led the project stakeholders to achieve project milestones and deliverables. It became a successful business case within the company. The presenter was invited for a presentation to share the experience to the Corporate Group as a good lesson learned for all.

Program objectives

The key learning points and summary take away for the talk includes but not limited to the following:

    • Background of project case with unexpected challenges.
    • Benefits of underfill (UF) standard process.
    • Processes and steps involved in resolving the unexpected project challenges:
      1. Involvement during initiation phase.
      2. Key stakeholders relationship.
      3. Scope/requirement understanding (differentiate between critical product/process requirement vs other stakeholder requirement).
      4. Identify the bottleneck process with a workaround.
      5. Managing communication with all stakeholders in an urgency mode.
      6. Practice flexible, open for changes and explore options/alternatives to reduce the readiness timeline.
      7. Stay focus – do not divert/sway to additional good-to-have requirements (avoid scope creep).

Presenters Bio

Naj Rizal Roslan, BEng (Hons), MBA, PMP

Naj Rizal is currently working as Technical Project Manager for Robert Bosch (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd (Automotive Electronics) which is involved in manufacturing line industrialization. Up to-date, he has been leading and involved in up to 7 Penang Plant automotive industrialization projects and other manufacturing locations under global synchronization projects.

He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Putrajaya and Master of Business Administration from University Sains Malaysia (USM). He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®️) with the Project Management institute (PMI®️) USA.
