Speaker: SARAVANA KUMAR A/L SAGARAN
BSc, MBA, Certified Safety & Healthy Officer, HRD Corp Certified Trainer
Program Synopsis:
In 2007, the Cabinet made a crucial decision to implement the Code of Practice for Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) in the transport sector, focusing on public transport. After over two years of implementation, the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) took the initiative to revise and expand the code for better efficiency and coverage. With collaboration from government agencies, NGOs, and industry stakeholders, DOSH successfully developed the Occupational Safety and Health Industry Code of Practice for Road Transport Activities 2010. This was approved by the Minister of Human Resources and officially gazetted under sub-section 37 (4) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 [Act 514].
Safety in logistics is a non-negotiable aspect of business operations, directly impacting efficiency, regulatory compliance, and employee well-being.
